RRT Supports Causeway Coast Marathon

The Causeway Coast Marathon is an annual event, which takes place along the scenic North Coast of Ireland. This marathon is renowned for being one of the most scenic marathons in the world. The purpose of the event is to provide support for many charities including Chest, Heart and Stroke.

The RRT Team based in Northern Ireland were privileged to help out and provide assistance for this event for the second year running. Volunteers were drawn from Londonderry, Belfast and Warrenpoint for the event. The RRT provided assistance by:

• Providing marshals along the route to give direction to the runners
• Manning feed stations to provide refreshments to runners
• Traffic control
• Providing finish line support through the awarding of Medals and hot drinks to runners.

This event was a massive success with over 1300 runners participating across all events. Participants had the choice of Ultra Marathon (40 miles), Marathon, Half Marathon, 10k Fun Run and a Challenge Walk. For one of the Marathon runners, this was his 142nd Marathon, and was going on to his 143rd the next day!

RRT were pleased to be able to help once again at this event and are looking forward to assisting again.
