RRT provide meal at the Sanctuary

On Saturday 1st August 2015- 12 volunteers from the Rapid Relief Team (RRT) arrived at Sanctuary Supported Living in Banbury to provide some comfort and good food for the homeless and needy.

Sanctuary Supported Living is a support group especially for young single homeless people aged 16-25. Priority is given to 16-18 year olds and care leavers who need support with weekly meetings held to address their needs, including life skills, budgeting and cooking.

By 12:15pm the marquee was erected and the BBQ started. The team worked hard for the next few hours to provide a delicious, free BBQ lunch to all inhabitants and staff which was gratefully received and thoroughly enjoyed by all present.

A tasty menu was offered to all, with Freshly BBQ’d burgers in soft Baps with a range of fresh salad, complete with a range of hot and cold drinks.

Staff and Inhabitants alike were highly appreciative of this gesture from RRT with many making comments such as – ‘is this really all free?’ and ‘RRT is an amazing service, and the burgers were delicious – thank you!’

RRT were glad to support Sanctuary Supported Living and wish them all the best in their ongoing good works for society
