RRT Feeds Borough Council for Live Exercise Training
Bournemouth Borough Council has to exercise and train for Survivor Rest Centre facilities on a regular basis to fulfil the UK Civil Contingencies Act 2004 as a key agency requirement, ‘to plan, train, exercise, review and prepare for consequences of major emergencies and their impact on their communities’. This provision should be made by Local Authorities that provides temporary accommodation for those made homeless by such events.
The Local Authority asked the Bournemouth Rapid Relief Team to provide breakfast & lunch throughout the training day for 80 actors, staff and observers, on Wednesday 4th November 2015.
The LA Emergency Planning team were very grateful for the welfare provision by RRT at the temporary rest centre
The session ended with a debrief on ‘How would all perform in a real life situation’ and improvements that could be made to the planning.
RRT were glad of the opportunity to show how they typically interact with local authorities and emergency services in difficult situations.
