Great Fundraising Effort for The Red Cross
A huge thank you to the brethren students at Biggleswade Campus for a great fundraising effort!
Jane Whitbread, Bedfordshire President for the Red Cross, accompanied by Sarah, the local fundraising coordinator, visited Biggleswade Campus to receive a superb donation of over £7717 towards the fight against Ebola, and the many other humanitarian aid projects financed by the charity. Sarah explained the Ebola Virus to the students, and the work of the Red Cross around the world in combating it, particularly in Syria and Sierra Leone.
Jane Whitbread followed with a further speech and gave an enlightening and educational insight into the work of the Red Cross in Bedfordshire, encouraging the students to help in the vast range of volunteer work that is done by the charity.
Jane Whitbread expressed her gratitude on behalf of the Red Cross and on behalf of the millions of people that would benefit from such a large donation:
“Thank you, again I just want to say an enormous well done to all of you and some of your ex-students, your effort was fantastic and the amount of money you raised will go so far. It’s a huge sum, so thank you so much, on behalf of the Red Cross”.
The students and staff who come from Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire, and from many different backgrounds stood up, cheering and clapping as the cheque was presented to the Red Cross by the Head Boy and Head Girl.
In closing, the Red Cross offered to keep in contact and come again and speak to the students about their extensive benevolent work in the area and beyond.
Biggleswade strikes again! Good work!!!
Excellent amount of money!
Well done, Everyone!
A real Christian Spirit – as the Bible says: It is more blessed to give than to receive.
Keep up the good work, Christian Brethren.
