First Class Service to Fire and Rescue Services
On Thursday 4th June 2015 the RRT from Liverpool attended an Incident at Kirkby industrial estate. The team provided refreshments to firefighters from the Lancashire and the Merseyside fire and rescue service.
Fire Crews were battling a huge blaze that was ripping through a compost warehouse. The building involved was thought to be a storage area for peat and other compost. Engines were stationed around the area pumping in water. Crews used hoses on the ground and an aerial appliance to fight the flames.
The alert came in about 7:30 pm, and the fire was mostly under control by around 9:30pm but fire crews remained on scene damping down for some time. There were no people involved in the incident but there was extensive damage to the building and contents. The surrounding area was cordoned off by police.
The RRT set up a rest area for the weary fire crews, lit up by the lights of a Lancashire engine. Throughout the evening hot and cold drinks, snacks and pizza were served, bringing a smile to the faces of everyone that passed by.
how about a vid?

Whilst the UK doesn’t usually get bush fires, there are regular property fires, so the RRT still have plenty to do.
