Spreading the Gospel Message – far and wide!

50,000 Gospel tracts!

With over two million shoppers expected to hit Oxford Street in London on Boxing Day, younger members of the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church thought it was an ideal time and location for the Gospel Message to be spread far and wide.

Over fifty Church members, (mostly young people between the ages of 16 and 27), helped distribute nearly 50,000 Gospel tracts conveying God’s message of love and hope to shoppers from all over the country and many from other parts of the world.  A number of Church members also concentrated on other busy locations in the Capital, including Regent Street, Piccadilly Circus and Brompton Road.

Throughout the week various teams from a number of Gospel Halls around London could be seen in the West End enthusiastically giving out the small booklets whilst directing lost shoppers! Many members commented on the encouragement they received from other Christians; one young boy was told ‘you’re doing a great job’ whilst others expressed their eagerness for the Gospel by asking if it was a Gospel tract, then saying ‘’ I’ll have one of those!’’

It’s a privilege to give out the gospel message. My grandfather was converted in 1921 when he picked up a tract that someone had thrown into the gutter so don’t get discouraged by negatives.
