RRT help ensure BAG-A-THON success for British Heart Foundation
The RRT took part once again in the yearly ‘Bag It, Beat It’ campaign for the BHF (British Heart Foundation), collecting an outstanding 12,690 bags full of saleable clothes and goods. This will bring £100,000’s of revenue to BHF stores.
‘Bag It, Beat It’ is a nationwide campaign run by the British Heart Foundation allowing families and individuals throughout the UK to contribute towards the progressive work of expert researchers, in turn helping more than 40,000 school children in the UK fight congenital heart disease.
Channelling unwanted goods and clothing into sales stock for BHF stores across the country, was seen by RRT as an opportunity to involve all their members in assisting a very worthy cause.
Donations came in from 92 branches of the RRT in the UK, and were collated and delivered direct to the stores who were extremely grateful for the influx of bagged stock to sell.
BHF have come to rely on the support of the RRT and PBCC community to boost the annual bag-a-thon, and this is the fourth year that they have organised a large scale donation. Damion Jones of British Heart Foundation commented at a thankyou ceremony – “It’s amazing, you guys always blow us away with the amount of bags collected!”
Over 38,000 bags have been collected and donated to the BHF bag-a-thons over the last four years by the RRT and PBCC community.
RRT team leaders are pleased with the result and glad to wish BHF a successful and ground breaking year in the fight against heart disease.
